Robo hamsters are nocturnal, typically waking up around dusk and staying active throughout the night. While they sometimes make very soft vocalizations, it is their nighttime movement that might create a noise issue for some people. If you\u2019re a light sleeper, you probably shouldn\u2019t keep their enclosure in your bedroom. These hamsters are fairly low-maintenance pets, and they can be quite entertaining to watch. But they\u2019re not very cuddly animals and generally don\u2019t like a lot of handling. While they\u2019re usually docile, they might nip if you startle them. A pincushion with legs:<\/span> The hedgehog is a short and stout little mammal that is sometimes called a pincushion with legs! Most mammals have fur or hair that is somewhat flexible and soft. But the hair on the back of a hedgehog is a thick layer of spikes (or modified hairs) known as quills. These quills are made of\u00a0keratin, the same stuff our hair and fingernails are made of. Hedgehogs can be white or light brown to black, with several shades found in bands along their quills. Their belly, face, and neck are covered in coarse hair.\u00a0 These interesting critters have small but powerful legs and big feet with five toes each. Curved claws make hedgehogs amazing diggers. A long snout with a wet nose gives them an excellent sense of smell. Their ears are large compared to body size, giving the spiky little creatures a good sense of hearing.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Gerbils live in colonies in the wild and are very much social animals, so the more the merrier!<\/p>\n

They are quite curious, playful, and active little creatures and relatively quiet animals. Glass aquariums are preferred as they will eat plastic.\u00a0 Aquariums allow for a deep layer of bedding, so the gerbil can engage in their natural burrowing behavior.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Ferrets live an average lifespan of 5-7 years, however, the current record for the oldest ferret is 14 years old! They are very curious little creatures. Because they are social animals, if you are going to adopt a ferret, please consider taking in a pair so they will never be lonely. It is recommended to avoid adopting a ferret if you have small children in the home. They are very fragile animals and can be easily injured if handled inappropriately or dropped.<\/p>\n

Like a cat, they love to nap and usually sleep up to 20 hours a day. When they are awake, however, they are very active and playful pets! They love to bounce around and invite you to play with them. If you start bouncing around with them, this will often make them happy. They love crawling through just about anything, including cardboard boxes, PVC piping, clothes dryer hoses, paper bags, and even pant legs or long shirt sleeves.
